About

I am a retired American History teacher, who taught in the White Plains, New York district for thirty-six years. In 2003, in preparation for a lesson, I found what I thought was a flaw or omission in the 20th Amendment to the US Constitution. Research into the topic brought me into contact with Yale law professor Akhil Reed Amar who told me that he had petitioned Congress about the same issue. Later I met with the then Historian of the Senate Don Ritchie who confirmed that my theory – the one featured in my novel – had merit.
Although I have retired from the classroom, I continue to coach track at White Plains High School; this is my fortieth year. I am also the proud meet director of the Glenn D. Loucks Games, one of the nation’s most prestigious meets, one which last year had 3,499 participants from ten states and 2 provinces.
