It’s the graduation time of year.

 This is the time of year where groups of kids worldwide graduate from schools to either move to higher education, or are pushed into adulthood. In order to deal with these difficult situations, here are a few great suggestions to help these readers transition into the next stage in their lives:

1. The Promise of a Pencil by Adam Braun

For that graduating student who wants an inspiring story of the potential of what one can fully do with their life, this story will inspire that reader to no end. Definitely a great book for a person who is graduating and trying to find out how much power one person can have on the world.

2. Do Cool Sh*t by Miki Agrawal

This is written for the new generation who doesn’t want to follow the usual path to success. This book inspires people to make their own path to what they want to do in life.

3. Delivering Happiness by Tony Hsieh

A great book to help graduating students to make those difficult big decisions, and then be happy with what they have chosen. Its great for the confused graduate.

4. What I Know Now: Letters to My Younger Self by Ellyn Spragins

Another great read that explores the author looking back on their life and writing advice to her younger self. Its great for a graduate to read in order to get that good advice before making the bad decision.

5. Vagabonding: An Uncommon Guide to the Art of Long-Term World Travel by Rolf Potts

Another book that is an alternative to the classic office planned job of the future. This is a guide to long term traveling that is great for alternative adulthood.

6. Oh, the Places You’ll Go by Dr. Seuss

This one is a classic that is just necessary. Many people get this book for their graduation, as it’s a great party gag for that kid moving to adulthood.

7. I just graduated. Now what? By Katherine Schwarzenegger

The great next step book in figuring out what to do next with life. A book from a recent graduate to a recent graduate, it has the voice of the generation as they prepare to go into the real world.

8. The Marriage Plot by Jeffery Eugenides

A little different from the guide books above, this one is an actual fictional story. This one covers it all, from the struggles of finishing your grad thesis, to dealing with making huge mistakes after senior year. It’s a great read to help you avoid some mistakes, and just an entertaining read in general.

9. The Interestings by Meg Wolitzer

Another fictional story and entertaining read, this book covers dealing with adulthood, questionable relationships, and the lifestyle of starting to live on your own.
