Sweet! Here’s a great gift for your book lover friends who own an iPad or iPhone. Apple iBookstore now let’s you give  individual books as gifts

Previously, you had to buy an iTunes gift card, but now you can gift individual books.

To gift a book:

1) Browse to the book in the iTunes store

2) Select the book thumbnail

3) Click on the arrow next to the ‘Buy Book’ button

4) You will then see the option for ‘Gift Book’

The only drawback is that you can only gift books to folks in the same country as you. More details on the MacWorld blog.
