Independence Day is this weekend, so its time to celebrate-with books of course!
Since this holiday is like many of the others, and has a lot to do with food, below we have compiled a few great books to help settle anyone’s appetite:
This little NY Times bestseller gives not only great barbecue recipes, but stories that can be shared at a family barbecue. Since a lot of Independence Day parties involve grilling all the best foods, this might be a great choice book.
After the grilling there is, of course, dessert so we picked a little kids book about making apple pies on Independence Day. This book has illustrations by a Caldecott winning illustrator and has a really good lesson about diverse celebrations of the United States’ day of freedom and independence.
This is a 4th of July recipe book all about one of food’s most important ingredients- its sauces and seasonings. Adding the flavor is what makes the food memorable. And memorable food definitely makes a memorable holiday.
This book has great recipes for Independence Day as well as other holidays. So after you use its great 4th of July recipes, you can save it and use it for almost every holiday throughout the year. This book is constantly useful.
This book has great international classics if you want to be a little different for your Independence Day this year. You can make a favorite dish from multiples places around the world and really celebrate the freedom and diversity of the United States.
We just added this book to the end, because it is all about cookies; ALL TYPES of cookies. Dye them red, white, and blue for the celebration. Need I say more?
For regular book suggestions for this holiday check out our July 4th suggestions from last year.
Happy Independence Day!
